Hi,

Thanks to Jean-Michel Hervouet for providing Telemac3d_principle_note_150114_provisional.pdf. This tecnical note seems very helpful in understanding the technical details.

Since the non-hydrostatic cases deal with P_d(dynamic pressure), Does the PROJECTION SOLVER and PPE SOLVER comes into picture ONLY in NON-HYDROSTATIC cases?
(i.e. one should not bother about PROPAGATION SOLVER and PPE SOLVER in HYDROSTATIC cases)

I hope you would correct me if i am not right in the above statement.

Thanks in advance

Hello,

No, the propagation solver is the solver for the depth equation, which is always done.

Hi,
How about PROJECTION SOLVER in HYDROSTATIC and NON-HYDROSTATIC cases? Which unknown variable will be found using PROJECTION SOLVER?

Thanks in advance

Hello,

PROJECTION SOLVER is not currently used. It refers to the equation giving the final velocity as a function of the dynamic pressure, once the dynamic pressure is known. This is currently done by lumping the mass matrix in the variational formulation, so only a division by a diagonal is required, not the full solution of a linear system.

JMH
