I am use to HECRAS but I'm trying to create a simple model in mascaret QGIS plugin but i had few errors and weirds results or messages.

First I got this message in each simulation either I run a steady or unsteady simulation :

I do not find from where the error is coming.
Somebody could help me ?

Then I don't understand why in a steady run you have to enter a "courbe de tarage " or "cote fixe" as Mascaret ask it .

Hi,

Hard to say without seeing your model.
I guess you use the debug mode? Because I never saw this error message referring to mascaret source file.

Can you share your listing file instead of the console output.
The listing file is in the plugin folder: Mascaret/mascaret with the extension .lis.

Anyway, I'm not HecRas user but I've heard mascaret is destabilising for HecRas user.

With steady or unsteady kernel, you need to impose condition on height at downstream boundary. It could be a single steady value or a rating curve. In the second case, mascaret will propagate discharge dowstream, read the corresponding height with the rating curve and calculate backwater free surface upstream.

You probably did a mistake in the parametrisation of the extremity layer or corresponding hydraulic law.

Maybe is the missing of "abcsissa" value for my extremities but if I give one it does not change the error message, and furthermore I do not have any junction (so I should not need it if I undersantd well the wikipage).


On the error message of the console the path refenreced does not exist on my computer:
" C:\opentelemac-mascaret\RD_issue\dev_schapi\plug_mascaret\sources\mascaret\Modules\m_traiter_erreur_i.f9"
Maybe I missed a file to install to use the QGIS plugin... Do we need to instal any package from the automatic installer V8p4R0 ??

No, you don't need to do anything using mascaret with the plugin.
An executable version of the code is downloaded on git.

The error message is written in the listing file.

You chose Critere d'arret du calcul : COTE MAXIMALE AU POINT DE CONTROLE wich is unusual for me.

Anyway, the listing tells that you chose a control point which is not between the first and the last cross section of your model.
