Dear all,

I am in trouble using Nestor, I am trying to simulate a dredged material disposal, but I can not find any example using Nestor where suspended sediments are studied. The examples with Nestor seem to study the disposal at the bottom and then the evolution but I would like to study the suspension as well as the bottom evolution.

I am using Nestor (via Sisyphe), Tomawac and Telemac 3D coupled.
Telemac 3D for the hydrodynamics
Tomawac for waves impact
Sisyphe for the sediment transport
Nestor to commande the disposal of my sediments

Is it possible to use Nestor to command the disposal of "suspended" sediments ? If it is how can I input that ?

Please forgive my poor english,
I hope it is understandable

Hello,
you can use Nestor also for suspended sediment transport. Anyway, a word of caution: for the time being you need to set the bedload equal to zero, as follows:
BED LOAD = YES
BED-LOAD TRANSPORT FORMULA = 1
MPM COEFFICIENT = 0.
SUSPENSION = YES

BUT !
Nestor is not capable to add material which is in suspension (floating in the water) into the water body.
Nestor is capable to change the elevation of the bottom while simulation.
You are able to add in a certain time a certain amount of a certain (fine) material (eg. material which was dregded)
to the bottom (the bottom will elevate) .
Afterwards (or instantaneous) the material could be washed away (eroded).

Thank you very much for this quick answer,

Is there any way in Télémac, to add the suspended sediments to my zone (not close to a boundary) and follow its tranport ? Even if as I understood it will not be via Nestor, it is really important for my simulation,

Hi
You could directly in sisyphe.
If you use the latest version, this could be done in Gaïa and the suspended part will be managed by Telemac-3d.
Look into the manual for more details

Thank you for answering so quick !

I wonder if you could advise me a example using Gaïa (or sisyphe) that could help me understand how to add suspended sediments in a specific zone.
