Hello SANAZ,
basically Nestor is lowering (dredging) or raising (dumping) the bottom only in an telemac2d or gaia model.
It is exchanging z and dz values with telemac2d or gaia.
While changing the bottom, the volume of the material which is moved by Nestor is balanced.Nestor itself does not know anything about the hydrodynamic or morphodymanic.
With NESTOR a bunch of actions can be defined e.g. :
dredging and optional dumping the just dredged material
(specified by: location, time, volume)
dumping a specified material => modify the grain composition in the bottom
(specified by: location, time, volume, supplied grain composition)
dredging if a water depth is to little
(specified by: location, time, critical water depth, ... )
raising or lowering the bottom to attain a specific shape of the bottom
(specified by: location, time, reference level)
This actions are executed while running a hydrodynamic or morphological
simulation.
All the parameters for the actions are set by the user in an Nestor
steering file (Action file)
Best regards,
Boris and Rebekka
