As told in rule #1 of this forum, if you use the search feature of the forum (menu as "Recent Topics" or "Rules" not the search of the opentelemac website), you can find a relevant answer with the keyword vtk:

The command (from the TELEMAC-MASCARET Python scripts) converter.py srf2vtk file.srf file.vtk works well and no need to use pputils from Pat.

Just to clarify, the scripts in PPUTILS allow for the conversion to binary vtk files, which result in smaller file sizes and load much quicker in Paraview.

Thanks for the clarification Pat.

Indeed it is a good idea to reduce sizes of files. I hope this feature may be available in Python scripts soon.

A good solution may also be to compile Paraview with the Serafin addon, to skip the conversion step (which is not so easy I recognize).
