Alright -- your install seem to be corect (the DICO file is the dictionnary against which all CAS keywords are checked).

I have really to idea then. We would have to check the whole simulation. Is it possible to send us all simulation files so we can try to reproduce the error ?

Thanks.

Sure I can here they are...zipped. Is there are more functional GUI for the run control. Is anyone working on that? Many thanks most kind of you to help. I hope that once this is running I make faster progress - I have so far found it a little frsutrating. Do let me know if there are files missing.

Thanks -- you can try FUDAA. It is a TELEMAC interface capable of setting up your simulations (I was going to ask you to try to load your CAS in FUDAA).

I will check your zip.

:woohoo:

I found what the problem was -- LISTING PRINTOUT is a logical (YES or NO value) and should not have a file name.

I would actually recommend that you use the -s option (telemac2d.py -s t2d_run01.cas) instead of using the keyword.

Hope this makes your day !

PS: The new scripts (coming version v6p3) do print a lot more information on screen. I will add even a bit more.

thanks for that I have changed the filename to YES adn also 'YES' but still get the same error message. I can only assume there is some other keyword that is wrong. Why can the code that scans the run control file not simply recognise that there is an error and report either that the case file line number or the keyword has an error? I do appreciate your help but for a programme to just dump the user like this is amazing in this day and age. I am willing to stick my neck out and help write a decent run control file editor/scanner. I have done dozens in the past but in Fortran with windows GUI not python. thanks again though...it seems more a stuggle than is necessary.

That is why we have FUDAA -- did you try ?

For information, you are using scripts from our second only attempt to switch to a multi-platform python environment. The current set (v6p3) prints the following on screen:
Running Mini_Estuary.cas with telemac2d under c:\home\opentelemac\Beach_01
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
... reading module dictionary
... running in English with  Mini_Estuary.cas
    copying:  telemac2dv6p2.dico c:\home\opentelemac\Beach_01\Mini_Estuary.cas_2013-06-24-14h33min58s\T2DDICO
 re-writing:  c:\home\opentelemac\Beach_01\Mini_Estuary.cas_2013-06-24-14h33min58s\T2DCAS
runCAS:
   |rewriteCAS: ... innapropriate value set for keyword: LISTING PRINTOUT
... So your CAS file is now fine. Your problem is with your GEO file: If you look at the figure, you can see that you have "de-generated" triangle on the side. I believe our Canadian colleagues have solved that issue with the latest of Blue Kenue ... Do post a question on the Blue Kenue Forum.
Good luck !
Sebastien.
I have checked..3.3.4 is the latest version. What exactly is a degnerate element? In the display I get with this file the mesh appears ok to me?
it is a very flat element -- with zero volume. You seem to have many of them along the border of your mesh.
Try this one: #8484
Any flat areas should be dry in any case as they are below the water line? What is the number I do not have that many elemets or nodes in the mesh? Thanks for that checker...another DOS program!!!!! Cheers
