open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Hello everyone.
I am simulating a 2d river, the river has more or less 38 km in length, water depth between 6 and 3.4m, velocities between 3 and 1.5m/s.
The hydrodynamics was calibrated successfully, for unsteady conditions.
I coupled EUTRO and the thermic model, I made sensibility analysis for both separately, and with the temperature, nothing changed, but something happened when I made the couplingEUTRO+thermic and the temperature is increasing 10°C and according to the measures must be only 2°C.
I have meteo data measured every hour, I changed the parameters that appear in the thermic cas file.
Any suggestion about what must be ajusted?

You can play with a few parameters for the THERMIC module as told in the WAQTEL technical manual or the WAQTEL user manual:
- COEFFICIENTS OF AERATION FORMULA can be seen as 2 calibrations for the wind function to control the sensitive heat,
- COEFFICIENTS FOR CALIBRATING ATMOSPHERIC RADIATION can be seen as a calibration for the atmospheric radiation. In 2D, only one specific formula is implemented for this flux,
- depending on your location, you can also change COEFFICIENT OF CLOUDING RATE. Have a look at the WAQTEL manuals for the suggested values,
- the WAQTEL user manual only tells you can change COEFFICIENTS FOR CALIBRATING SURFACE WATER RADIATION depending on your extent.

I tried already some of them, but not with COEFFICIENTS OF AERATION FORMULA.
I think maybe can be instability problems. I will continue trying.

When I use the THERMIC module in 3D, it is this parameter (or the one with only one coefficient COEFFICIENT TO CALIBRATE THE ATMOSPHERE-WATER EXCHANGE MODEL) that I usually tune to calibrate temperature.

It would be interesting to have more information and inputs about your case:
- which release do you use?
- can you provide at least the steering files + possible Fortran file + atmospheric data file?
- do you have dry areas in your domain?
- by equation = 2, do you mean ATMOSPHERE-WATER EXCHANGE MODEL = 2 (i.e. complete balance model)? Have you tried option 1 (linearised formula)? Do you have the same tendency?
- where do you have -10 degrees, everywhere? In particular areas of the extent?
