I am coupling Telemac2d with AED 2.0 to predict water quality parameters in a coastal area. I have no problem with serial mode but in parallel mode I receive this error:

Hello,

Are you sure you you have run a TELEMAC-2D computation coupled with AED2? Because the AED2 coupling is only available with TELEMAC-3D.

Have you tried running your computation without coupling with AED2? Do you have the same issue in parallel?

Perhaps you can send an archive .zip of your input data so that you can try to reproduce your issue.

I have not the same issue without coupling AED in parallel. Also I have run the model by coupling Telemac 2d and AED in serial mode and had no issues. I think I can not couple telemac2d and AED in parallel. What do you think?

Have you filled in the 2 keywords GEOMETRY FILE and BOUNDARY CONDITIONS FILE in the WAQTEL steering file?

One again, I wonder how you can use TELEMAC-2D rather than TELEMAC-3D when coupling with AED2.

I have not used These two keywords in WAQTEL. See my .cas files for telemac2d, AED and .nml files.
I dont know why my telemac2d works with AED.

As suggested in my previous post, adding keywords GEOMETRY FILE and BOUNDARY CONDITIONS FILE in the WAQTEL steering file avoids the PARTEL issue, raised in your log. Anyway, there should be other issues.

Since release v8p0, the choices for the keyword WATER QUALITY PROCESS have changed to enable combo of processes for water quality, not a single one.
Thus, using WATER QUALITY PROCESS = 6 gives you a combo of processes numbers 2 and 3, i.e. O2 and BIOMASS, not AED2. Please read the WAQTEL user manual of the latest release.
There is a stop in the source code if you want to run TELEMAC-2D with WATER QUALITY PROCESS = 13.

I used the enclosed files to solve and see your issue.

I tried to use these two keywords and still have the problem in parallel. In serial mode as you said I changed the WATER QUALITY PROCESS = 13 and received the error as bellow:
AED2 LIBRARY NOT COMPILED
I think AED2 does not work on my system. Can you help me to active aed2 on windows?

I used the 2 previous enclosed files and the geometry files from waq2d_thermic example and the errors disappeared for me. In particular, I had to fill in the keywords GEOMETRY FILE + BOUNDARY CONDITIONS FILE in the WAQTEL steering file + disactivate the Thompson boundary conditions as there are too many tracers for standard TELEMAC-2D (see other posts in the forum), with commented keyword
OPTION FOR LIQUID BOUNDARIES or with every value set to 1 (default value).

Indeed, if you do not have a flag -DHAVE_AED2 in your configuration file, prior to compiling the source code and if you have not installed AED2 before, you will get such error message.

Anyway, as written in TELEMAC-2D user manual, "AED2 is currently not coupled
with TELEMAC-2D contrary to TELEMAC-3D" and I can tell you that no implementation of such coupling does exist for TELEMAC-2D.
You have to swith to TELEMAC-3D if you want to use a coupling with AED2 or change the WAQTEL module if one of them fits what you want (please read the WAQTEL manuals, e.g. the EUTRO, BIOMASS or O2 modules).

If you have issue of installation, please post in the dedicated section of this forum. In particular, I cannot help for windows as I do not have any windows computer.
