open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Good day to everyone!
I'm trying to migrate to Linux on my personal computer but I haven't decided which distro to adopt yet.

In my first experience with TELEMAC-2D I used 2 computers:

- A company laptop with Scibian 9 with the numerical tools ready to be exploited

- A virtual machine with Lubuntu 18.04.3 with the numerical tools ready to be exploited


However, I now wish to install a Linux-based operating system on my personal computer. The goal is to have administrator rights and start learning Linux.

Which Distro do you recommend me to adopt?

I want the installation of Telemac-Mascaret as simple and stable as possible. I don't have much technical computer knowledge. A DISTRO user-frendy would be good, for now I'm in doubt between Linux MINT 2020 and UBUNTU 20.10


Does the DISTRO really matter ?

Any recommendations ?

Hi,

I made good experience with Ubuntu and currently running Pop!_OS, which is based on Ubuntu.
Would be interested in this as well. Currently I am thinking about switching to openSuse Leap, but I am not sure how well this TELEMAC works with openSuse.

In general I guess it should work on all distributions, as one should be able to install all necessary packages on all of them, but the needed once might not be in the standard repositories of some.
