TOPIC: slf file conversion

I am doing research on TELEMAC-2d model, I want to do some inter-conversion of slf files, for example, inter-conversion of .slf and .txt files, inter-conversion of .slf and .nc files, this problem is bothering me, and I hope that the experts who have done the related research will give me some suggestions!

I am currently working on slf conversion and by doing some research on this forum I found this project which contains very useful scripts.

Particularly the file /ppmodules/selafin_io_pp.py.

FYI - Blue Kenue can load a SLF file and save portions as other formats.

If you're looking for something specific that is not using Blue Kenue's GUI (graphical user interface) then you might also consider using Blue Kenue's CLI (command line interface).
  • The CLI currently has only a little bit in there... but if people ask for something in the Blue Kenue forum section then I'd be willing to entertain adding it... depending on what it is and how much work... :whistle:

Wait, Blue Kenue has a CLI? This is news to me... is this described anywhere in the manual?

Yes... it has been available since 6 October 2020

See Appendix B.2 - Use Blue Kenue from the command line... near page 152 of the Reference Manual in the latest beta install. Also see Appendix B.3 - Convert a large number of SWAN files to MIKE21 files.

Ah, so only in the unofficial releases ... looking forward to trying it in an official release when my work's IT allows us to install it :woohoo:

In the meantime, could the manual be uploaded to CHyMS? The only one on there is from 2011...

Yes, only the unofficial release has the CLI with a few small things in it and it will transition to an official release as soon as I can see that the mainline tasks are stable.

That being said, please upgrade to BK 3.12.21 - beta if you can, and help test the mainline tasks. That is, those tasks that you do on a daily or weekly basis.

I received your private message, but the Open Telemac web page and messaging system is all wonky for both my MS Edge and Firefox browsers. Have a look in the Blue Kenue section of the forum; at the top you will find that some posts are yellow and "stick" to the top of the list of posts. The sticky posts are the "important" posts.
