Hi there,

i want to model a rain runoff in an urban area and was wondering if the Strickler/Manning coefficients are depth dependent and if not, if it's possible to implement that?
I use version V8p2.

Thank you a lot!

Hi
First of all, please upgrade your version to the latest one available.
Strickler or Manning friction law are depth dependent, are you sure you want to also have a depth dependent coefficient?
Implementing such capabilities is possible, probably in strche.f subroutines which is called at each time step.

Hope this helps
Christophe

Hi,

I once implemented depth dependent Strickler values into friction_calc.f (see attachment, case 3). It adapts the Strickler value for small waterdepths and if the Strickler value is lower than 27. Of course, the thresholds used can be adapted.

Kind regards
Frederik
