Good afternoon

I am currently calibrating a numerical model of a river with structures such as pillars and castings.
To calculate the scouring in these structures is it necessary to use SiSIPHE?
How can I calculate the sovacation in structures with the Telemac software without carrying sediment transport?

Hello,
The answer is yes. Scouring processes can be modelled with a sediment transport + bed evolution model as Sisyphe.
Nevertheless, you should be aware that, in general, scouring processes around structures are mostly subject to a 3D hydrodynamics forcing that motorizes the typical flow motion such as down flows, horse shoe flows, etc.
Anyway, 2D simulations (Telemac2D+Sisyphe) can give preliminary results that under certain hypothesis can be acceptable. Later, you should move to simulation accounting for the three dimensions, such as Telemac3D+Sisyphe.

Best wishes,

Pablo
