Hello,
I'm working with TELEMAC 2D + SYSIPHE and I need your help to make my calculation time faster. I want to simulate a five-year-chronic with flow and water-table-data each hour. I've tried to use an acceleration factor K=60 (that means make a sediment flow 60 times greater and divise time by 60) but my calculs stopped while I got a 120 m sediment deposit (and my results are supposed to be of the order of 2m). Could you help me using acceleration factors or do you have some conseils to give to me in order to make my calculation time faster?
Thanks in advance

Hi,

It depends on the type of sediment system you are looking at, but in my experience you get to see changes if you go above a speed-up of 10. If you push it, you may get it to 20 (see attachment for an analysis in a straightforward flume test case.

Note that you should not increase the sediment transport rates as your post suggests, but only multiply the bed level changes resulting from it. This is done in the steering file with

MORPHOLOGICAL FACTOR = 10
