open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Hello all,

I am running telemac2d coupled with GAIA. I have non erode zone in the model as well.
it is running. However, it is giving the following message:

BEDLOAD EQUATION SOLVED IN 50 ITERATIONS = MAXIMUM
INCREASE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF ITERATIONS FOR ADVECTION SCHEMES

I increase the MAXIMUM NUMBER OF ITERATIONS FOR ADVECTION SCHEMES to 200 but still I am having the same message. I also reduced the time step and still the same message is showing up.

Any help or hint is very much appreciated!

Can you try to change the keyword MAXIMUM NUMBER OF ITERATIONS FOR POSITIVE THICKNESS in your GAIA steering file please? I think the warning message is suspicious.

Thanks for the help. yes it is running without the message.

However, I could not find the keyword in the manual and why the message is different than the keyword should be used in GAIA.

I defined MAXIMUM NUMBER OF ITERATIONS FOR POSITIVE THICKNESS = 200 and after two hours it is giving the same message. how many iteration I can use for the max iteration?

What do you mean by "after two hours it is giving the same message", you mean physical time or CPU time, and to you have the same message during 2h or it appears when you reach 2h?
What about dry areas at that time when this maximum number of iterations is reached? Are they large compared to the whole extent of the model?
Have you tried to decrease the time step?

This is a warning message telling you that the convergence of this step is not reached. If the convergence is reached before this maximum number, the step is stopped before doing this maximum number, so you can increase this number as you want, but needing a too big value is suspicious, you should investigate why such a value should be needed.

Hello Sanaz,

I support Chi-Tuans proposal to look for the reason why your simulation does not converge properly. I have seen that you use a morphological factor of 10. This could be a reason for your converging problem. So you could try either to reduce the time step (as Chi-Tuan already proposed) or to reduce the morphological factor (or both).

I am having the same problem as Sanaz but this time when coupling telemac 2d with sisyphe

There is no erosion zone in my model.
I could say that it is the NOEROD.F file, since I am new with the program I am not sure how to define it so it is probably wrong, if you help me with that I would appreciate it a lot
