TOPIC: Steering File "FAILED TO LAUNCH" error

Steering File "FAILED TO LAUNCH" error 1 week 6 days ago #46456

I recently wrote on the forum's about my problem with my steering file:
www.opentelemac.org/index.php/kunena/19-...-keyword-error/46452

I've followed the recommendations replied that said to read the reference file which included the keywords for the computation. I tried this approach and I guess it worked (I'm a beginner to TOMAWAC and might not understand some terms). However, a different error has occurred.

Here are the files: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Ocfqcn8o...bYESE1Fa?usp=sharing

Help would be greatly appreciated!

Here is the error text, the image of the cmd is also in the drive:

ERROR: Error reported: failed to launch 'C:\Users\steve\OneDrive\Desktop\final shape\panay.cas_2025-03-21-22h24min39s\out_tomawac.exe' on SHAN
Error (2) The system cannot find the file specified.

Once again, as you're a newbie in openTelemac, you're strongly advise to read all the documents available and also make some search on the forum as such problem has been encountered many times and of courser answered also many times.
Using folder name with space is prohibited...

- the name of the bathymetry file in the steering file is not the one you provided.
- the format of the bathymetry file is not correct (delete the header)
- put number of time step instead of number of breaking times steps
- put ABSCISSAE instead of ordinates (you specified 2 ordinates and no abscissae
- the format of the wind file is not correct, it should be seraphin or med. if you want to have your own format you have to write a fortran user to read it.

As for, the error you have on the jpeg error as christophe said you can't put a space in the path of your executable.

Thank you for your helpful reply!

I applied most of your recommendations. However, I am stuck with the last recommendation regarding the format of my wind file.

I downloaded my wind file from era5 hourly data. Wherein I am able to download it in 2 file formats (Grib and Netcdf4). How can I convert either the grib or the netcdf4 file into selafin?

Once again, many thanks!

Best Regards!
