open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Hi Blue Kenue Team,

I downloaded the new version 3.12.8-alpha because in the version BlueKenue3.12.7-alpha, the calculator does not work. The program crash if I execute A+B(Waterdepth+Bottom).
This problem still exist in new version. Moreover in version 3.12.8-alpha I can not create a closed line also. Can you please have a look at it.

I moved your post to its own topic; since it should not be bottom posted on the release notes.

In general, it would be best if:

1. you create one post for one issue
2. for each issue you post, include the exact steps you tried, the observed fault and a small data example that I can use to reproduce your observations

I'm back at work tomorrow (28 Aug. 2023), so will be able to take a look sometime this week. I will look sooner and provide a faster response if you do a little homework too

Hi Alan,

Thanks for fixing the closed lines error.

I have a classical example for calculator error. I have attached the .slf file and screenshot of it herewith. Picture is self explanatory. When I try to calculate as in the picture the software get crashed.

I hope this explains my issues.

Thank you Sandip. The screen snapshot showing exactly what you tried is exactly what I wanted to see.

As an aside, sometimes a very small change in what you do versus what I do can result it something working for me and not for you. Hence the reason why I always ask for details.

I'll take a look. It may take me a while to change the code because of the way that the code is currently organized internally. Or, worded differently, there are partial changes towards something better (that still need to be completed) and that are interfering with the calculator's operation. Stay tuned...

SLF file seems to load correctly and display the default colour scale properly. That's good.

BOTTOM + WATER DEPTH seems to be working for me.

• I did a quick-n-dirty hack
• In the future I will likely have to revisit this...

What other expressions would you like me to try for you before I make a new alpha with these fixes?

I tested 4 operators: PLUS, MINUS, DIVIDE and MULTIPLY. None of them causes a crash.



That's all I have time to test at the moment. Please let me know if you specifically need other operators else I'll leave this topic (for now).

Just to make sure if it was only my PC problem, I tried the calculator operation as in the picture attached above in another PC with 3.12.8-alpha version. It get crashed. You mentioned "none of them causes a crashed" means You fixed the bug?

For the moment addition operation is important for me.

The new version (3.12.9-alpha) that is not available to anyone other than me, is what will not crash and is what I was referring to.

In addition, I have tested 4 operators: +, -, / and *.

• Which additional operators (over and above those 4 operators) do you need at this time?
