I want to make a slf file to represent rainfall varying in time and space.
But I don't know how to integrating multiple frames into one file.
Can anybody can give me some advice?

Hi,

Blue Kenue has a few general things you might want to investigate:

• Tools > Map Object... - that maps objects that are loaded in the WorkSpace onto a selected object in the WorkSpace
• Tools > Map Files... - that maps files on disk onto a selected object in the WorkSpace
• Tools > Calculator... - that allows you to compute new values based on existing values

Depending on exactly what you are trying to do, it may or may not already be possible in Blue Kenue 3.12.8-alpha.

Sorry I didn't express my requirements clearly.
I need to make a multiframe BINARY ATMOSPHERIC DATA FILE like the attachment file to run a simulation.
I don't know how to integrating multiple frames into one file.
Actually I have tried Blue Kenue 3.12.8-alpha, but there are no relevant guidelines in the manual.

Not fully sure it's possible to generate à slf file with multiple time steps in BK.
Probably easier to achieve this task in python.
You could try to look at what it's done for atmospheric file in generate_atm.py file and adapt for rainfall

Scripts can provide you with a lot of customization capabilities; including creating your own data in your own data format.

However, if you're interested in what Blue Kenue can offer, then I'd like to know if they are stored in files and then what data format (i.e. file type) are they?

Are they native Blue Kenue file types, such as Rect 2D Cell, Rect 2D Scalar, Rect 2D Vector, etc. etc. Once I know what file type your frames use then I'd be able to know if Blue Kenue can do what you're asking (or not). And whether I could/should improve the Map File(s)... menu item to include what you are asking about.

Blue Kenue 3.12.9-alpha is the most recent version; please upgrade because a number of things were fixed.

Currently Blue Kenue does not import NetCDF (i.e. nc) files via any means. However, Blue Kenue can create a simple output nc file if I recall correctly.

If you would like to continue to request this new feature to be added into Blue Kenue please answer the following:

1. Are you in a rush for a solution?
2. Are you able to convert your nc files to something that Blue Kenue can currently import? If yes, then I'd be more willing (and able) to create something on the soon-ish side via Map File(s)... for you.
3. Can you share 2 example nc files with me or their textual description (cdl)? Private message me if they are too big to add to the OpenTelemac forum. Example commands you could investigate further are: (source NetCDF Utilities - Dr. Fu, IPRC, UHawaii at Manoa)
   • ncdump -c foo.nc
   • ncdump -b c foo.nc > foo.cdl
   • ncdump -b c foo.nc > foo.cdl

I see from here that ERA5 can be downloaded in GRIB format. GRIB is currently importable.

So, I'd suggest that you download GRIB format (rather than NetCDF format) if that is possible for you to do. And then share 2 example GRIB files with me.

I have already solved my problem by modified a python srcipt which is downloaded from the forum.
The attachment is a grib file that I downloaded from ERA5 data.
