FYI - The next alpha version (created after 1 Nov 2023) of Blue Kenue will have a fix for all File Open dialog boxes.

Problem: All 30 or so dialog boxes used the same storage location to record their individual state information.

Solution: I changed all code so that only the original "File --> Open" menu item's File Open dialog box's file filter is remembered.

Worded differently: the File --> OPEN dialog box will now remember which file filter you select the next time that File --> OPEN is used. The filter will reset to its default once Blue Kenue is closed.

The default file filter for Blue Kenue will now be a new filter called "Selafin File (*.slf)" that will display ONLY those files that end with the extension slf.

There will also be a new file filter called "All Telemac Selafin File (*.slf)" that will also display all of the following file types at the same time *.tel, *.sel, *.ser, *.res, *.srf, *.r2d and *.r3d.

I feel bad only requesting this now that you've put the work in, and perhaps this is bad UX practice, but I'd love for one of the file filters to be "All Relevant Files" (but worded properly). 95% of the time, I immediately switch to "All Files" when I'm opening Blue Kenue, as I normally use it for preprocessing and need to open auxiliary files.

I can submit it as a ticket if you think it's worthy, but I thought I'd let you decide if it is :)

Please don't feel bad. In this case, changing the BK File Open Dialog Box default (for the first time the dialog is displayed) to something else is very, very easy for me to do.

A little more background... of the 30 or so File Open Dialog Boxes...

• One is a general File Open Dialog Box. Meaning that the general dialog box has filters for all files that can be opened. In my previous post I described that I have set the default to Selafin (*.slf) and that if you change it to something else, then the next time you use File > Open your filter will be what you last selected.
• The other 29 or so File Open Dialog Boxes (some are also File Import Dialog Boxes) usually have 2 filters, the "main filter", such as Shape Files (*.shp) and the general filter, such as All Files (*.*). For these dialog boxes, the main filter will always be the default and BK will not remember what you last selected.

I'm willing to change the default filter for the general File Open Dialog Box that is shown the first time the dialog is displayed to something other than Selafin (*.slf) if people want me to. However, now that the dialog properly remembers and displays the last used Filter, I believe BK will be a little more friendly.
