Why ?

Currently, after generating a mesh, some issues or ugly cells may appear near hardlines or hardpoints.
Best is to modify hard[lines/points] to generate a good mesh but it's time consumming and not always feasible and the other method is manually moving/deleting nodes or swap edges to fix the mesh.

Operations on edges can be done by BK.
Operations on nodes can't.

I need to use QGIS (but it corrumpts the slf file) or an old fortran software (trigrid).
It could be nice to do it directly in BK.

Are you asking to modify the geometry (i.e. the 2D or 3D nodes) inside a SLF file? Or are you asking to modify the mesh before creating a SLF file?
  • the former can get tricky in the case of 2D or 3D scalar or vector multi-frame SLF files with an explicit Z (and the same when W=0) because the Z values are stored across the frames (and hence may change)
  • the latter can be done now, if I recall correctly... by editing a node

Perhaps you're looking to edit only the 2D (X and Y) values in a SLF file's geometry? And for Vector data... if X or Y are changed... would you also want the ability to change U and V? Please elaborate your thoughts... perhaps you're thinking about something much easier and simpler than what I'm thinking about!

Kindly... Alan

I would like to be able to move a node right after creating the mesh (T3 mesh) as it can be done by editing a node but graphically by clicking and draging the node.
Current editing process requires to enter a X/Y coord.

I only want to change X and Y. Z or any related data will be unchanged.

Understood... thanks for the suggestion for improvement.

Kindly... Alan

PS A little FYI... since the ability to change the X and Y co-ordinates currently exists and since you are asking for a second way to change the X and Y co-ordinates, it is highly likely that this new request will be lower on my TODO list.
