A critical part of the meshing process, as it currently exists in Blue Kenue, is to estimate the
maximum node count.
Automatically calculating this estimate can lead to one of 3 situations:
- the estimate exactly matches the required memory usage and all is well
- the estimate is larger than necessary AND if it is SIGNIFICANTLY larger than necessary... memory problems may occur... including disk thrashing etc.
- the estimate is smaller than necessary causing meshing problems and no way to change the estimated value in order to increase the count
All this to say, I have changed what Blue Kenue will do for its automatically calculated estimate. As I learn more, I will try to improve the estimate in the future.
Therefore, to help avoid meshing problems, the old dialog box (OK to continue) will be replaced with a new dialog box that will allow you to override the automatically computed maximum node code.
