Improvements:
1. Tried 4 new ways to automatically compute the maximum node count used during meshing
   - Also did a few more things related to this automatic calculation
2. The automatic calculation of the maximum node count is not very robust (yet). Allow the calculated value to be changed

- 422 unit tests pass (no change)
