Hey! I'm practicing Calculator function with a .res file.

When I tried to extract U component velocity, my steps were:
Select Velocity UV child object-right click -Animate, then -Tools/Calculator-Select Velocity UV from A column- Fill A in the expression -Fill the unit

When I tried to set the Start and End value , I looked up the BlueKenue Tutotial and thought it should be the number of total timesteps?

Accoeding to the .slf file I used, the time step is 5 and total time step is 500, so I put 1 as Start value and 500 as End value, but I got a error notification

Then I tried to put 5 as End value, and changed the name and units of variables manually. And got another error notification.

I am a bit confused about the selection of Start of End values and what does Invalid frame timeStamp imply here.

Thank you so much!

That seems concerning.

I do not have the possibility to debug anything today.

That being said, please help by checking/testing some things yourself... some things to try include (but are not limited to):
  • Load your SLF file... are the number of attributes correct? the attribute stats? the metadata?
  • Try saving your SLF file to a new SLF file and then loading the copy. Does it seem correct
  • Try Saving a mesh to a separate file (not a SLF file) and load the copy. Does it seem correct?
  • Try some other things too...

Try to summarize your findings. If you find a fault then provide the exact steps to reproduce the fault consistently.

Sorry about this! I haven't done much calculator testing in the last 4-5 years... so whatever you can test in this beta version will be helpful for everyone.

Kindly... Alan

To fix this "properly" I will need to upgrade 22 classes in order to align them...

Stay tuned; this could take some time and effort. However, I may reduce this effort and focus on 4 only...

Hey I have been trying both sample file from Telemac Tutorial and my .res file.

And I figured out I don't need to set Start and End value when using the sample file.

I assume the problem could be the Timestep and Time frame set up in .cas file

I'm still plodding along.

I am currently reviewing 79 functions. Once I've completed the review, I'll start investigating this specific fault further.

Stay tuned... Alan

The next installer created on or after 7 March 2025 will (should) have this fault rectified.
