Hi,

I have been building meshes with increased resolution of the areas im interested in by inbedding submeshes. The problem i have is that by constraining the edges of the domain to say 500m, BK doesn't have enough space in some places to reduce the mesh down to the required resolution. (one part of domain edge).

I understand that the procedure is to build a mesh (with the submesh) much larger than the final perimeter. This will allow BK to grow the mesh from the submesh out. I then use this mesh as "density" when building my final mesh. The problem i am experiencing is that the minimum node spacing is not the same as defined in the mesh used for density. It often seems to ignore parts of it. Also, if i click the button that says to resample the edge i just get a mesh of constant 500m spacing (even though the manual suggests that it will resample based on the density prescribed).

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Please post your t3m file here and I'll have a look at it.

Cheers... Martin

Thank you,

Sorry i have not been able to work on this until now, still haveing problems with it though.

I have been having a go with a smaller case to work out the method before using on my larger domain. please see the attached files. final mesh is my last one, this uses density mesh as density (which is a larger mesh with inner and bank meshes as sub meshes).

if i resample when creating the final mesh i just get a mesh with the resampled node spacing all over. If i dont, then the node spacing at the perimeter isnt allowed to change and i therefore get stupid results. I could define the node spacing on the boundary with the outline, but this is what im trying to avoid by letting the mesh grow properly with the density mesh.

If you can let me know where im going wrong, i would much appreciate it.

Kind regards

Roger
