open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Dear community,
I have made numerous tidal/non-tidal simulations using FEM models like ADCIRC, SELFE which use basically ascii grid format holding nodes, elems and brys. Mapping those info onto any other FEM model format should be 1:1. I would like to repeat some of these simulations now using TELEMAC 2D and later on 3D.
What would be the best way to convert any of those grids into telemac one?
Is there some matlab, python, fortran tool, not to reinvent the wheel?
Has someone done some tidal barotropic case comparison already?

Hi Ivica,

You can use Blue Kenue to load ADCIRC files.
See: "File->Import->ADCirc Hydrodynamics"

You have to option of only loading the mesh (*.14) file.

I loaded fort.14 into Blue Kenue but could not make/save/export appropriate telemac binary grid file. I mean I should save bathymetry, node coords and element list info along with connectivity map (I can compute it offline, it is not a problem). What do you think is better approach to write fortran prog to do that according to the manual or try to use blue kenue?
Is there some cookbook or step by step tutorial or even blog or whatever on the topic how to build grid, bry and init file from the scratch?

Have a look at section 2.4.2 in the Blue Kenue reference manual for required steps to create a SELAFIN file.

You might also want to take some time perusing the Blue Kenue section of this forum.
