TOPIC: Error in mesh?

Error in mesh? 12 years 4 weeks ago #6050

Hi,
I have a problem with my mesh, but I have no idea what the problem is or how to resolve it.
I use my mesh, which is generated in Blue Kenue, to create a Telemac project in Fudaa. However, before even reaching the general parameters window I get several pop-up windows saying something about severe errors in the boundary (in French). Then a final pop-up window saying that the boundary conditions will be initialized, and nothing else happens. In the task meny it says 90% mesh indexation.
What can be wrong and what can I do about it? I attach it to this post.
/E
(yes, I am new to Telemac...)

Hi,
I do not use Fudaa but from Blue Kenue I generated a conlin file for you which sets all boundaries to land (flow and level boundaries can be editted by you as appropriate). You could load this conlin file in Fudaa with the .slf file and see what happens. My examination of your mesh and the fact that Blue Kenue was able to generate a boundary file indicates that the mesh and slf file is okay.

I am not sure what your application is but bottom levels if coastal/ocean should be negative and not positive.

Regards
Tony C.

Yes, I changed the values to negative (they are positive in ArcMap). I will try your conlim file. I noticed that my generated mesh was divided in two parts (one part in the northeastern section was left out) even though my coastline is one single polygon. I think that might be a reason also, so I will try and see what works.

You will want to specify a higher mesh density in the neighbourhood of these narrows or cut this bay off entirely. (if it's not a significant part of the mesh)
I've had a quick look at your mesh and there are a couple of other problem areas.

Cheers... Martin
