Hello,
I am a new Telemac user and I'd be glad if anyone could help with this..

I'm trying to run Telemac on a very simple geometry to get used to the software. First I created the geometry file with the mesh (geo.slf) in BlueKenue. Then I opened it with Fudaa and imposed two simple boundary conditions: 1 liquid boundary with prescribed elevation (free surface set to constant) and 1 liquid boundary with prescribed flowrate (flowrate set to constant). The problem is that at this point Fudaa adds a new liquid boundaries file (ca.liq) in the file list (in the 'Project' tab), but when I save the project such a file is not created. Therefore, when I try to run Telemac, it stops immediately saying that the 'ca.liq' file is missing.
Now, as far as I understand, this ca.liq file is used when I have time dependent variastions on my boundaries, but in my case I chose constant values.
Where is my mistake?

Thanks

Hello,

This is probably a Fudaa related problem, however linked to something strange that you did, because nobody has ever reported this. You can try to remove the keyword annoncing this file in the steering file, just by editing it, and then rerun the case. Or you can do this and try to run Telemac without Fudaa, just with the command telemac2d name_of_your steering_file, for example.

Thank you very much Jean-Michel, I managed to run Telemac on the DOS prompt after mofifying the steering file as you suggested. Just another quick question..Telemac seems to work for a bit, but after a few iterations it stops with this error message:'DEBIMP:PROBLEM ON BOUNDARY NUMBER 2 GIVE A VELOCITY PROFILE IN THE BOUNDARY CONDITIONS FILE OR CHECK THE WATER DEPTHS'.
Again, I don't know what profile it wants, since my two boundary conditions are set as constant flow rate and constant free surface. Do you think this problem is related to the file created in Fudaa? Is it maybe a problem with the initial conditions?

Thank you

Hello,

On boundary 2 you prescribe a discharge and at some time and for some reason there is no water left on this boundary. This cannot be in the initial conditions since it works for a while. Try to understand what is wrong by looking at your results, or inspire from other test cases.

Hi,
You can stay in fudaa-prepro

You can also remove the liquid boundaries file in tab keyword of Fudaa prepro- (click "function initialize" with right button)) and rerun telemac2d.

Hi,

I am also experiencing difficulties with my boundary conditions.

I have added the boundary segments that I require in BlueKenue and given them the appropriate settings 'open boundary with prescribed H'. However when I go into Fudaa to define the 'prescribed elevations', it is not letting me add/edit it at all.

I have attached my .cli file for your information.

If anyone can help me, that would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Rob

Hi
Fudaa manage the keyword directly with the boundaries.
So you should display the mesh and select the boundary to give the right value...

Hi,

Thanks for responding. When I display the mesh in Fudaa, it shows a solid boundary all the way around, even though I defined different boundaries in BlueKenue prior to importing it in to Fudaa.

How do I modify the boundary in Fudaa?

Thanks,

Did you specify the cli file when you create the project in fudaa?
Otherwise it's similar to BK, there is a layer boundary in which you could select node and then create a liquid boundary

Yes I specified the .cli file in the fudaa project however fudaa has not read in the boundaries that I specified in BK. Ok I will give that a try.

Thanks
