Hi,

I'm trying to create a free surface as initial condition for a T2D simulation of a river.
I saw that fudaa-prepro can do that, but I don't manage to make it work.
Here are the steps that I follow :
1 – I draw a profile (polyline) along the river
2 - I interpolate the values along this polyline between a max and a min that I impose
3 - I « build » (construis) a free surface from the polyline
4 – I want to calculate h, u and v but either I can't have access to « calculate h, u and v », or nothing is calculated

I can't see h, u and v in the table of the free surface, and I can't see any isosurface for h, u and v.

Can somebody tell me what I do wrong ? Or if I dont have enough information to run this calculation ?

Thanks in advance
Marie

Hi
Did you add the variables H, U, and V before trying to run the huv computation?
(right click add variables...)

Hope this helps
Christophe

Hi,

It's working now :) thanks a lot

I didn't understand that I had to activate the initial conditions first. I thought that you could activate it only if you had a previous computation file, which is not the case. It seems that Fudaa can create a « computation continued file » (fichier de reprise – sorry if it's not well-translated, I only have the french version).

Just 2 more questions :
If the « computation continued file » is just an initial state, do we need to put a « value of time step in the computation continued file » ?
If the keyword COMPUTATION CONTINUED (SUITE DE CALCUL) is activated, does the computation continued file have the priority on what is in the INITIAL CONDITION keyword ? Can we leave the default value which is ZERO ELEVATION ?

Hi,

you can use the keyxord "INITIAL TIME SET TO ZERO" ==> you start your calculation to zero.
Normally, if you have an COMPUTATION CONTINUED, TELEMAC2d considers the variables in the file.

Best regards
