TOPIC: Running MASCARET 1D Simulation with Telapy

Running MASCARET 1D Simulation with Telapy 1 month 2 weeks ago #46283

Hello Experts,

I have been using Telapy to run TELEMAC-2D with Python on Linux. Now, I would like to run a 1D simulation using MASCARET (also through Telapy to control the simulation parameters) and have a few questions:

- Do I need to compile a separate code to use MASCARET 1?
- Should I prepare the input files in the same way as with FUDAA-MASCARET, or is there an alternative approach?
- Is there any better approach to make my simulation?

Thanks,
Mohamed

Hi Mohamed,

- Do I need to compile a separate code to use MASCARET 1?
It depends on how you installed it.
If you have compiled the whole system, mascaret should be compiled.
If you used the automatic installer, it should be OK as well.

- Fudaa-Mascaret is not maintained. An alternative approach is to use the dedicated plugin (especially for large scale real case model).
https://github.com/Artelia/Mascaret
But it's QGIS plugin so you need to be confortable with QGIS
https://plugins.qgis.org/plugins/Mascaret/

- If you need to control simulation states or parameters during the simulation, use the API after reading the manual.
OR the dedicated notebook
https://gitlab.pam-retd.fr/otm/telemac-mascaret/-/blob/main/notebooks/telapy/mascaret_example.ipynb

"This is intended for people who want an example showing how to run Mascaret in an interactive mode with the help of the Python programming language."
