I want to use an old SERAFIN file and increas the computational domain.

first, I import the SERAFIN file in Matisse.
(at this step, I can select the tabs "MNT" and "maillage" .)

In the tab "lines geo":
- I select the contour curve
- I change the line : "Editer type de ligne" -> "utilisateur"
- I split the line,
- I extend my model area (adding point to the line item) and close the line.
- I change the new line type :"Editer type de ligne" -> "contour"

Once completed this Operation, I can't select the MNT tab : error message "domaine non valable"

Are you sure that the new line (which extend the limit of the model) is well connected to the old one?
Maybe you had a double point and that could generate this type of error.

It seems to be something else. I check your two points :

When I changed my line, I have had following messages:
do you want to continue the existing line
do you want to close the line
ok .... ok ....

moreover, I can change the line Type in "contour line" (I think it's impossible for an open line)


I made a probe on the start point and the closing point :
exemple of response :
X = 1500.000000
Y = 1937.000000
Z = 130.000000
TYPE = flexible
SET = MATISSE
Number of Rows = 1

TYPE = Contour
TYPE = Line Geometric
SET = MATISSE

if I silth a little, I have this probe :

X = 1500.000000
Y = 1937.000000
Z = 130.000000
TYPE = flexible
SET = MATISSE
Number of Rows = 1

If I'm correct, a probe on a double point show the XYZ values twice in the same windows ?

so ... I don't understand ...

You're right about the double point.
I've no other idea about this problem except maybe if your extension is greater than the limit of Matisse Project! (but I'm not sure this could generate such error)
Maybe you could attach here a zip of your Matisse project, in order to allow us to try to reproduce your problem (to reduce the size, you could only let the initial outline in your project with also the extension limit);
