open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Hi to everybody!

I am a really beginner, I have some problems then I try to install and compile paraview with telemac plugins. I have a Ubuntu 11 machine, I try to follow the README file in /AddOns/ directory, for me it was a big failure!

Someone can help me? I need e small but easy guide.

Sorry for the late answer -- do you still have that problem ?

What you want to do is a very difficult task -- not even all the developers can manage to do it -- Is there any reason why you wish to use ParaView -- Can you use Blue Kenue instead (together with POSTEL3D maybe) ?

I found a solution to make a precompiled Paraview Version 3.14 with Telemac Support portable (without mpi).
This means for most Linux64 systems (works at least with Ubuntu, Suse, RedHat .. ) you just extract 150MB in any folder and start it.

I don't know if it is allowed to redistribute it. We should contact the Paraview developers.

After paying a lot time for trial and error we finally got a stable setup.
Meanwhile I prefer using it over all the other tools (Tecplot etc ...), as it is much faster with big data sets and it has superior post processing abilities. The layout styling is a bit more difficult.

Restrictions of my portable version:
- no MPI
- no .AVI export (but you can generate .png series which can be combined to avi with AviDemux 2.6.6 Qt within seconds, gives better compatibility and postprocessing features anyway )
