Hello!

I am looking for some help/inspiration for extracting velocity profiles from T3D results i several positions over depth. I use the data to plot and compare with measured results.

At the moment I have been "manually" extracting results from several layers and then saving as csv -> paste to excel sheets. This is quite time consuming and I would much rather spend time analysing/tweaking the setup, in-data and trying different scenarios with that time!

Therefore I am wondering, how are all of you other user out there doing this? Maybe someone have a more elegant solution that they are willing to discuss :)

Best regards

Hello,

Try using extract_pt.py script from PPUTILS, it does exactly what you are looking for. You run it from the command line as follows:

python extract_pt.py -i in.slf -x 100.0 -y 200.0 -o out.txt

You have to specify the input file, x, y coordinates, and the output file.

Hello!

If you are looking to extract a time series i believe you can use pputils.
There is also a way in blue kenue:

1. Define the points that you wish to extract data from in a point set which you create within blue kenue.

2. Select your .slf and go to tools -> extract time series -> at multiple points

3. Select the extracted time series and klick the save icon. select the output format to .csv and save it.

Remember that the output is created in the same order as you created the points. if you want you results in a specific order, create the points in that order which save you from having to shuffle around the results in excel afterwards.

Hope i answered your question!
