Hello,
In parameter and configuration of aed steering file ( and aed nml), it is possible to overwrite initial parameter concentrations (ex dic_initial in aed_carbon) by GLM or TFV IC. In my case, I would like to overwrite these concentrations through telemac3d, where I use source points to inject tracers in specific locations of my studied area. I'm also using a SOURCES FILE to specify the tracer injections (ex DIC) in time.
Is it possible to couple this source of tracers (ex doc, dic, din...variable in time and space) as initial parameter concentrations for aed2 ?
Thanks

Hello Raphaël,

I do not exactly know how the .nml files work compared to information contained in TELEMAC-3D steering files.

If I understand, you want to define initial conditions for AED2 tracers.

Tracers modelled in AED2 are advected and diffused by TELEMAC-3D. The tracers initial conditions can be managed through the keyword INITIAL VALUES OF TRACERS if they are constant in space, see e.g. waq3d_aed2 or waq3d_aed2_flume examples. Otherwise, you can implement the tracers initial conditions with the help of the USER_CONDI3D_TRAC subroutine.
You can have a look at chapter 7 "Tracer transport" of the TELEMAC-3D user manual.

Hope this helps,

thank you for your reply.

In fact, I'd like my tracers not to be passive, but, for example, to be able to influence carbon fluxes at the water-atmosphere interface. In my case, the addition of a (temporary) source of dissolved carbon should influence CO2 fluxes at the air-water interface at the precise point where the source is injected...

In that case, if the tracers are not constant in space, the only solution is to implement the initial conditions via programming.
