Senior scientists position at HR Wallingford

HR Wallingford is looking to recruit senior scientists for their coasts and estuaries group. The post involves use and development of the TELEMAC-MASCARET modelling suite.

 

The successful candidate will possess elements of the following:

  • good first degree in a relevant scientific subject
  • a higher degree (Masters or PhD) in a field related to numerical modelling of sediment transport in the marine environment
  • a comprehensive knowledge of cohesive and/or non-cohesive sediment transport processes
  • a thorough understanding of marine data (measurements and analysis)
  • experience in using the TELEMAC-MASCARET modelling suite
  • proven technical knowledge through publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference presentations
  • experience in delivery of consultancy work
  • programming skills (especially FORTRAN, but also MATLAB, Python)
  • good reporting skills
