The installation instructions that I found on the website seem to treat the one directory ~root both as the location of the working copy of the source code (say a subfolder of /home) and as the location where executable, libraries and friend will be eventually installed.

However, while I do want to have my working copy inside /home, I also want to install the program inside /opt. I intend to use the Python script.

1. Which modification to the procedure shown in the website should I apply in order to perform this?
2. Is there any resource that specifically addresses this point that I missed?

Thanks for considering this.

Hello,

Because the TELEMAC system is compiled on all sorts of platforms and operating system (including mobile phone devices -- yes I have seen this !) we'd like to avoid having a full integration with the Operating System (i.e. /opt for linux, Users.. or Windows for Windows, etc.).

In addition, we'd also like to support concurrent / multiple versions of the TELEMAC system on the same computer.

Therefore, this is the reason why we like one directory to self-contained all there is about one version / configuration. This allows us to be very generic without having to worry about use of Windows98 or MacOS or etc ...

Having said this, all executable are in the subdirectory build. Before compiling, maybe you can link (on linux) that directory to an otherplace place on your system ...

Thanks for your participation.
Sébastien.
