Hello all,

I read about the keyword "PARAMETER ESTIMATION" to automatically calculate the friction coefficient values.

It says specify, FRICTION or FRICTION, STEADY - What is the difference  ?

In case, I've set of field measurement data for a different location in the same domain at different time period. Some location has the only tidal level, some have currents and some have both the data.

How do I give these data as an input to Telemac using the above-mentioned keyword to get a spatially varying friction coefficients?

The observed data from different time period (e.g one from July 2001 may be the other 1990) and it is of different time series length (some of them like 24hrs data and 6hrs, one month, etc)

So how do I run my current model at what time period if the all observed data is from different time period?

Can anyone suggest anything regarding this?

Thank you in advance.

Hello

The choices for PARAMETER ESTIMATION can be Friction or Friction,Steady. The difference between these two choices is that for the first case, time is taken into account in the estimation algorithm and is not for the second case. It is recommanded to use the steady case since it is more reasonable in term of CPU to achieve estimation only using the last time step.

Data can be introduced through the subroutine Mesures.f (sources/telemac2d).
Things are really well explained in the user manual. Please refer to paragraph 6.8 pasges 54-55.

with my best regards
