Hello,

I would like to run a 1-year simulation, but by intervals of 1 month (that is to say 12 simulations) because the MPI reconstruction is very slow.

I need to generate and to read restart files ('PREVIOUS COMPUTATION FILE') and I have seen that a special procedure takes place in Telemac 3D ('RESTART MODE'), which is very simple thanks to the 'RESTART FILE'.

Does the same procedure exist in Telemac2D ?

Thanks !

Hello

To have a restart file very easily you can:
1- run your simulation in serial mode for just 1 time step. The generated result file will be a very light restart file.
2- you can generate a light restart file with blue kenue very easily by : new serafin file -> add variable
3- by using features in the python scripts of telemac

with my best regards

Thanks Riadh for your answer !

I don't understand your first proposition: running 1 time step ? What is the purpose of this strategy ?
For the second one, I don't want to use an external software since I would like to run many simulation automatically.
For the last one: where can I find the python scripts of Telemac ?

Thanks

Hello Youen

For the first solution, to generate a restart file after a long simulation period (and thus a huge result file), you can run (not in parallel) Telemac only for 1 time step using the huge result file as restart. Then you will generate a very light result file that can be used efficiently as a restart file.
the python scripts are in folder scripts/python27. However there is no documentation that helps.

with my kind regards
