Actually there were some bugs in the first release of v7p1. Later, we have released a fixed version that we called v7p1r1. It seems that you are still using the original release.
I have tried your model with v7p1r1 and it works quite nicely.

I was using the earlier version of v7p1r0 and yes it works fine with the most recent version of v7p1r1.
The linkage of Telemac to the TPXO and other databases is very useful

Hi

I have a model of the East Coast of Ireland running using five tidal constituents on the open boundary. I want to apply the TPXO boundary forcing but I can't find any documentation on it.

I've managed to put this together from one of the posts on the Forum.
What geogrpahic system should I use for the Irish Sea and from where do I get the h_tpxo7.2 and u_txpo7.2 files?

I presume I need to change the open boundary settings in the conlim file from
5 4 4 to include velocities?

UTM29N is the cartesian system to use with the TXO database so
ZONE NUMBER IN GEOGRAPHIC SYSTEM = 29

Thanks very much for the reply.

I tried running it but it can't find the h and u files
BINARY DATABASE 1 FOR TIDE = h_tpxo7.2
BINARY DATABASE 2 FOR TIDE = u_tpxo7.2

Should it find these automatically or do I need to get them from the Oregon State University site and put them in the same directory as the other files? Sorry for all these questions but I can't find any documentation on it.

If the area you want to model is fully included in the area drawn in volkov.oce.orst.edu/tides/ES.html
I would suggest you to use the tidal local solution European Shelf. Same use as TPXO database, but more accurate (in particular close to the coast). You have to download the files and change the name of the database of course.

Yes the datafiles I have used are European shelf model hf.ES2008.out and uv.es2008.out and are better than the global TPXO solution for the Irish sea area particularly near shore areas
