Hello everyone,

I have a problem modelling a dam break. The file used for the breach is attached.
When executed, telemac-2d returns the error :

BRECHE : ERREUR DE LECTURE SUR LE
FICHIER DE DONNEES DES BRECHES
POUR LA BRECHE 1
VIOLATION POLYGONE LARGEUR NE PEUT PAS LIRE

PLANTE : ARRET DU PROGRAMME APRES ERREUR

I don't see what I'm missing since I just adapted the text of the breach example file.

Thank you for your help!

Pablo

So this is weird, the model won't run on telemac v7p0 on my computer and return the error mentioned above, but it works on a colleague's computer.
I would like to avoid a long reinstal of telemac, especially that it doesn't guaranty the problem would be fixed.
Is there any way to make it execute? Is there special files for the breach module?

Thanks,

Pablo

P.S : Error translation in English
POLYGON VIOLATION WIDTH CANNOT BE READ

Dear Pablo,

We have had similar issues with the breach file as well, our "solution" was to copy (from the test case) & edit the file carefully watching for spaces and special characters and lines and formatting (windows formating of txts is different from unix's one...). re-compiling didn't solve anything in our case (same version with same configs though), the issue was the breach file.

PS. Re-compiling telemac in a Linux env. (or even windows...) from sources shouldn't take more than 15 min.

Regards,

José D.

Hi
You probably should have a look into the file lecbreach.f where the reading of the breach description file is made.
There was an evolution few years ago to allow the possibility to have a breach evolution, not only by lowering the level of the bottom but also by a widening of the breach.
Maybe some complementary information have been added here and are missing in your file

Regards
Christophe
