Hello everbody,

I am a new user who is slowly getting customed to TELEMAC-2D. After setting up my mesh and running the first steady state simulations succesfully, I delved again into the manual. I am simulating a lake with lots of small islands habitated by tall trees.

My question is, can I account the variations in wind speed due to lee effects in TELEMAC, e.g. changing the fetch length? I could not find any hint in the manual about that. Is there a possible way?

Thanks a lot in advance
Robert

Hello Robert

Sorry for this late reply.
I'm not skilled in these specific phyisics, however, in Telemac, the wind in taken into account in subroutine prosou (sources/telemac2d).
You can find there a short description of the wind force. If you want to modify this expression, you can edit it there and put the modified subroutine in the user fortran file (keyword FORTRAN FILE).
You can also have a more indepth physical processes with the wind generated forces that are taken into account in TOMAWAC (onother module of the Telemac system which can be coupled automatically with Telemac-2D)

I hope that this helps
with my best regards
