Hello,

I have just started to use telemac-2D and received an error message in the command window that states I am exceeding maximum interactions.

I have tried to sort the problem out by changing the number of time steps (reducing from 60 to 10), the free surface gradient compatibility (0.9) and the treatment of the linear system (2).

Please find attached my steering files, geometry file and bc file.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Rebecca

Hi Rebecca,

First at all, without the geometry file (selafin) there is no much i can do, but if you are a beginner i advise you to begin with an example seemed to your model.

Although, you should check your initial condition in your cas file, INITIAL CONDITIONS does not look well, you have to indicate CONSTANT ELEVATION or CONSTANT DEPTH, 'TPXO SATELLITE ALTIMETRY' is not a valid option, also, you have 0.0 as initial elevation, you have to use a value that guarantee water depth>0 at liquid boundaries, because if the model does not have water in their liquid boundaries, telemac will not work fine.

Your model looks like a complex one, so, as i said to you, would be better if you as a beginner start running one less complex. Look at the examples.

Something else, i can see that you prescribed UV and H at both boundaries (inlet and outlet), check this post of Riadh www.opentelemac.org/index.php/kunena/16-...nd-subcritical-flows, he is very clear about prescribe liquid boundaries.

I hope i had helped you.

Best regards

Jose

Hi Jose,

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately, my geometry file was too large to be uploaded. Is there another way I can send it to you?

I should have specified in my original message that I am using Telemac V7p1 and that I am forcing the model with TPXO 7.2 and as such the altimetry (initial elevations) is taken from that file.

I have modified the parameters you mentioned but the model still doesn't work.

Kind regards,

Rebecca

Hello Rebecca

First start with smaller time steps (4s, 1s, 0.1s). It will help.

If you have the same problem, use google drive to upload the whole model and we will try to check it up.

with my best regards

Riadh

Hi Riadh,

I have tried using smaller time steps but it still doesn't work.

Here is a link to my geometry file. The other files can be found in my initial post.
