Hi everyone,

I am using a hotstart as a initial condition for a channel, but when i run the simulation with the hotstart as a previous computation file, it show up VELOCITY UV resuts as in the pic attached, does anybody know why this could be?

Regards,

José

Hi José
Could you be more precise or join the files?
It's hard to answer with only a picture.
As the values are more or less the same (around 0.25) this looks like a scale problem of the display rather than a problem with hot start ...

Hi Christophe,

The hotstart looks fine, UV vectors have an appropriated scale, but when i continue the computation the vectors change their scale, get a much larger scale, and i do not know why, find the files (hotstart file is named as tc_t2d_hydro.cas) in the following link drive.google.com/open?id=0BxYwOb2RaOSfOXNVNDNuWnUyazQ

cheers,

José

Hi
According to your files, this looks ok for me (I used fudaa to vizualize results).
The result file of the initialization (tc_rt2d_hydro.slf) evolve from 0 to 0.25 m/s) for velocities.
The result of the continuation computation (tc_rt2d.slf) stay stable with no evolution of velocities...

Maybe a display problem in BK...

Christophe

Hi,

That is what i thought, thanks for your help.
Also, do you know how to get shorter computation times? Which solver could help me with that, and what is an appropriate solver accuracy?. I ask you this because i am running this model (It is a channel with three flow deflectors basically, i made more fine the mesh around the deflectors.) and i am getting too large time computations.

You will find my steering file (the mesh is around 10000 nodes, i have a computer with i5 processor and 8GB of RAM) and the rest of the files used in the next link.
