Hello everybody,

i would like to run various simulations in succession and just leave my pc running to save some time... Does somebody know and could explain me the step by step procedure to do such thing? That would be a great help!
Thanks a lot

Hi Galopito,

All you have to do is to run independently both simulations.

Open two command windows, and run both simulations at the same time but in different command windows.

Take in consideration the total time should be the same as run the cases separately, but if you are not going to be paying attention to when one of the simulations has finished (maybe because you are sleeping or something like that), this will be helpful.

This should help, this is what I do.

Cheers,

José

Buenas Jose!

Thanks for your reply! But isnt there a way that i can tell Telemac to run like 20 simulations i predefined at the beginning and just let my pc run for a day or two?

Cheers

Buenas Christian!

Actually, I do not know if there is a way to do it automatically.

How would I do it?
I would do it opening N command windows (where N are the simulations desired) and running every case in each command window separately, once you have finished the process of initiating the N simulations in the N command windows, you can let your PC running the simulations for the time it takes.

Maybe there is an easier way, but I have not looked for it.

Cheers,

José

Hi Galopito,

under Windows the most simple way is to create a ASCII batch file like telemac.bat and fill it with like this:

python.exe path\runcode.py telemac2d pathToWorkingDirectory1\simulation1.cas
python.exe path\runcode.py telemac2d pathToWorkingDirectory2\simulation2.cas
python.exe path\runcode.py telemac2d pathToWorkingDirectory3\simulation3.cas

Depending on how you run your installed Telemac you should also have the following instructions after telemac2d
-f path to systelcfg file including the file itself
-c name of the compiled telemac

Hope this helps,
Clemens
