Hello
I am a new user of Telemac
I made the grid of my project by Blue Kneue
Now I wanted to make the .cas file by Fudaa, but I was not able to install Fudaa
Does anyone know how to install Fudaa, or is there any other software that can be used as Fudaa?

Your help is appreciated

Hello Zhina,

I cannot answer you about Fudaa, I have never used it.

But regarding the .cas file, my suggestion (and I believe it is the general recommendation) is to take a look at the examples folder, get an example that has a characteristic of the case you have and build upon it.

For further help, feel free to ask.

Best regards,

Phelype

Hello Phelype
Thanks for your reply
Does that mean I do not need Fudaa for building up (collect) all the file of my model
according to my understanding, Fudaa is collect all the file like(Grid, Boundary condition,....) together. after that, the file can be run.

so you mean I have to modify any (.case) file and saved as for my project. after that, I will be able to run my simulation?

Thank you

Zhina,

I don't exactly know what Fudaa is for, so I can neither advise nor discourage its usage. Someone who has used it has to answer you this question.

As for the files needed to run any model from the TELEMAC-Mascaret suite, the essential is:
- The mesh (.slf)
- The boundary file (.cli)
- The simulation parameters (.cas)
Without these the simulation does not run.

But this setup is limited, with this you can only impose constant superficial and boundary conditions to your simulation.

Beyond that, you can have additional boundary conditions files that you inform to the model through specific keywords in the .cas file. The specifics for each of these files you find in the user manual of each model.
The same applies to initial and superficial conditions.

Otherwise, if you have an specific application that, for whatever reason, cannot be included in the simulation by means of keywords and additional input files, you can use the keyword FORTRAN FILE in your .cas. This fortran file contains the Telemac subroutines modified by the user and it will be compiled before the model runs and any modification you do in it will take effect during your simulation.

But, since you are a new user, the recommendation is to study the examples and the user manual and, after you understand the basics, modify them according to your needs.

Hope I could clarify things for you.

Best regards,

Phelype

Hello Zhina and Phelype,

I totally agree with Phelype, as a beginner his advises are excellent.

On other hand, Fudaa, as you indicated Zhina, is a tool that allows you to build up the steering (parameters) files. However, it is not necessary to use it. As a beginner, I advise you to use it, because you might not be familiarized to the Parameters of Telemac2d, Sisyphe, Tomawac, etc.
Thus, you will be able to generate your steering (parameters) file trough Fudaa. Once you are familiarized, you will not need to use it at all, you can change the steering file through the notepad or any other text editor, without problems.

Fudaa also works as a Post-processor, I do not have experience with it post-processing, but if you want to use it, it is possible.

I hope this mentioned above to be helpful.

Cheers,
José Andrés.

Hi jose2kk,

You said" it is not necessary to use Fudaa" to generate the steering file. What are the alternatives to build it? Anyone who knows can answer my question as well. Thank you very much.
