The number of drogues depends on several parameters you need to take into account.
The first point is the quantity of oil spilled. The bigger is the quantity, the bigger should be the number of drogues. This is due to the increasing complexity of the dynamics of the drogues when these latter are representing a huge quantity of oil.
The second crucial point is your computer resources. The bigger is the number of drogues the more expensive is the computation.
What we recommend, is to start with a raisonable number of drogues and to see while results are obtained if oil behaving is efficiently described, if not, increase gradually this number while keeping in mind the limits of your computer.
