TOPIC: liquid boundary file

liquid boundary file 7 years 1 month ago #27951

Hi all,

i am trying to use telemac3d. How can I prepare a liquid boundary file which contains the time series of elevation and velocity ? if i have two liquid boundaries, do I need to prepare two separate files?

Hello

liquid boundary conditions depend on the case and it's your hydrological tools who will define hydrographs or stage-discharge curve to prescribe. If your model is a coastal one, you can prescribe a tide.
All these conditions are well explained in the user manual.

with my kind regards

Hello,

I had the same question before.
I know that my reply is late, but in case you or someone else still need the answer...
You have to write in the liquid boundary file:
T Q(1) Q(2)

I don't know how to know which one is 1 or 2, you have to try and then realize which one correspond to each number.

Meni, if you use Fudda-Prepro to setup the boundary conditions, it will generate boundary # correctly in the case file.

Also you can figure out the order from the boundary conditions file generated by either BK or Fudda-Prepro. The first group of liquid nodes (non 2 2 2) forms boundary 1, the second group froms boundary 2, and so on.

Lastly, if you set up the order incorrectly your velocity vector should be able to tell you something is wrong in the order.
