TOPIC: Tracer dispersion simulation not working with Rain option

Tracer dispersion simulation not working with Rain option 7 years 1 month ago #28049

Hi Forum
I used the Pluie example in the T2d examples directory (for 7.2.2) for rain generated runoff very successfully for a lake catchment with very realistic hydrodynamics produced. Unfortunately when I try to combine it with a tracer dispersion simulation such as a conservative solute from an outfall or inflow boundary condition there appears to be an incompatibility at the input stage. I attach the cas file for the Pluie example with a single tracer source included which prompts the same error as my own example.

The error produced is

VALUES OF THE TRACERS AT THE SOURCES
GIVE AS MANY VALUES AS TRACERS: 1
INSTEAD OF: 0

the simulation works if I disable RAINFALL
through the keyword
RAIN OR EVAPORATION = NO

I assume it might be a conflict between the Rain routine that uses all nodes as sources and a specifically defined source and tracer.

If anybody has a solution would be greatly appreciated

Regards
Tony C

Hi Tony
I think you should give a value for the tracer in the rain.
There is a keyword for that.
This will probably solve your problem

Thanks Christophe,
That appears to have been the problem
I had assumed that rain tracer would be set to zero
very much appreciated

kind regards
