Hello Everyone,

I am running a river flow with Q specified boundary condition at the upstream of the river and H specified boundary condition at the downstream of the River.

When i run the model, the SL is interpolated at different time interval ( In the Error file shown in red color). However, the model does not seems to interpolate the Q value with respect to different time.

Any suggestions ???. Please let me know if require i will attach the full folder

Thanks in advance

Hello,

according to your steering file the inflow is located at the second boundary. In your liquid boundary file you should set Q(2). If you provide your liquid boundary file and the boundary conditions file, we can have a look.

By the way, I would suggest to revise your steering file..
e.g. a background eddy viscosity of 0.2 doesn't make much sense when using the k-e turbulence model, at least in my view. Solver accuracy of 1.E-3 definitiely is too low (default is 1E.-4). I would use also the wave equation method to speed up and stabilize considerably the simulation by using the keyword "treatment of the linear system"

Hope this helps,
Clemens

Hi

Sorry for asking this simple doubt.Am new to TELEMAC modeling. Here i have simulation with four liquid boundaries. Am running a steady flow simulation. My first boundary is Q specified boundary and remaining three are elevation specified boundary condition. However, the model takes only the input of boundary 2nd and 3 boundary. Any suggestions ???

Hi,

if you provide the liquid boundary file and boundary conditions file ,we could have a look.
Again, here in your steering file you give a discharge for boundary number 1, but your listing gives zero discharge. I think you have a mismatch for boundar<y number assignment.

Hope this helps,
Clemens

Am sorry some issue in attaching the liquid file. The above one is the liquid file

Your liquid boundary file should look like:

T SL(1) SL(2) SL(3) Q(4)
s m m m m³/s
.. .. .. ..
.. .. .. ..
see attached the image for open boundary number assignment.
In Telemac boundary nodes numbering starts in south-west and counter-clockwise. Therefore, in your case the first open boundary is the river branch number 1 and so on. Discharge boundary is at boundary number 4.

Hope this helps,
Clemens
