hi everyone,

I have already take a look at examples of telemac2d on the tide and read the manual. from what I understand, for the calibration part, we need to put the coefficient to calibrate tidal range, the coefficient to calibrate sea level and coefficient to calibrate tidal velocities then activate validation = yes in the steering file.

I have done on the performance analysis and got the result. as the root mean squared for tidal is 1.604 and velocity 0.089. are this the coefficient data that I should put in the steering file or there's any calculation for the coefficient to calibrate those items(tidal and velocity)?.

second, is it necessary for me to attach the Fortran file for calibration and validation? since I'm not familiar with Fortran.

lastly, I want a confirmation of the reference file, is it the reference file for calibration and validation is the result file from the same model which I had already run and analyzed the performance?

thank you for your attention.

regards,

shahirah

Hello,

The 3 coefficients to calibrate tide (tidal range, sea level and tidal velocities) are calibration coefficients which do not have any link with the validation process of the TELEMAC SYSTEM.

VALIDATION = YES only compare the differences between the result file of your simulation and another file at the same last time step and for some variables.

The 3 coefficients to calibrate tide can be used to calibrate your TELEMAC model if the tidal range, the mean sea level or the velocities are not reproduced correctly.

You do not need to put any subroutine to use these keywords.

Hope this helps,
