Is it possible to model depth dependent Manning's n for bottom friction? If not, could you advise which subroutine I should edit to achieve this?

Hi Hialiang,

If I'm not wrong for the LAW OF BOTTOM FRICTION 4: Manning-n depth is taken into account.

Calculation is done in friction_calc.f case 4

Thanks Patrick. I do not see it is calculated in subroutine friction_calc.

I did not see a place (case file or others) to input a depth vs Manning's n relationship.

I can't find a approach for a depth depending friction law in the subroutine friction_calc.f.

Is there actually a way to model witch depth dependent friction values?

I read your message too fast I guess, so you would like to describe n as a function of the depth?

In that case I believe you have to program it yourself (I have not done this, so someone else should provide you with better pointers than me).

Thanks for your fast reply. Yes I (and I think Hailang too) want to implement a funktion for waterdepth dependend friction values (because the friction is much higher in shallow water than in deeper water).

If there is no such approach in Telemac yet, I will manually implement such function in the friction_calc.f subroutine.
