Dear all,
I am doing simulation in T2D and obtained results are showing that water flows onto the floodplains while the measurement shows there shouldn't be any water on floodplains.
I guess that I have high waves in the model.
In the first attached figure you see a longitudinal profile of the bed elevation and the water surface elevation. Furthermore I a few cross sections are plotted in figure 2 and you can clearly see that the WSE also changes across the channel. So I think that I have (unrealistic) dynamic flow which leads to overtopping of the banks. Am I right?
If so, what would you think I should do? I wonder if you have any idea to help me with this problem.
Thanks for your help in advance.

The water surface elevation profile and cross-section do look really weird. A few things you can try:
- FREE SURFACE GRADIENT COMPATIBILITY =0.9 // not 0.0
- SUPG OPTION = 2;0;2

Make sure you only set each keyword once. eg you set OPTION FOR THE TREATMENT OF TIDAL FLATS twice. Otherwise the later one will overwrite the previous one.

Also I was wondering whether the example models include a better case file to fit your need.

Hi,

Thank you so much for your reply. I will try what you mentioned to see if it works.
